Overview
Experience life on a French farm, gain valuable life experience, and improve your language skills on our Farmstay program. If you are interested in working with horses, ponies, and donkies, then choose our Ranchstay program. Helping out on a farm or ranch is a great way to experience a unique French lifestyle!
Option 1: Farmstay
Students choosing this option will spend their time on a French farm. Farm activities may include fruit picking, caring for animals, grape harvesting and selling products at the market.
Option 2: Ranchstay
Students choosing this option will spend their time on a French ranch working with animals such as horses, ponies and donkeys. Most of the tasks will be related to animals but some tasks will revolve around the farmland.

The France Farmstay / Ranchstay program runs from 4-12 weeks in duration and is offered at between March and November. Other periods may be available upon request.

Eligibility
Eligible Program Participants Must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have basic knowledge of French
- Be in good physical health
- Love nature and the countryside
- Be a European citizen or be able to get a work authorization
What to Expect
During the Farmstay / Ranchstay program, you’ll participate in farm work for approximately 25 hours per week. Daily work can include fruit-picking, caring for animals, grape harvesting, and selling products at market.

- Schedule a meeting with one of our Travel & Study Abroad experts.
- Submit your application and a $200 application fee. This non-refundable fee will be applied to your overall program costs.
- Upon acceptance, you will be required to pay a deposit of 50% of the total program costs, up to $1500. The final payment is due several weeks before your departure.
