International Student Exchange Looking for Host Families in the Thumb

International Student Exchange Students in the Thumb, Michigan

Michigan – July 2024 – Liz Bowers has been a local Area Representative in the Thumb, (in the counties that form the peninsula that stretch northward into Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay) in Michigan for 17 years. She is currently looking for 10 families to host international exchange students.

Liz has hosted over 30 students during her time with ISE. Hosting students has helped her, along with other host families, learn a lot about themselves.

“I want families to know that I walk with them through this journey,” she said. “I do my best to help them find a student that will fit. I meet with my students every month, it’s part of how we run the organization.”

Read more of Liz’s interview in The Huron Daily Tribune’s article, “International Student Exchange Looking for Host Families in the Thumb”.
